Typically you can get stub bearings out by heating the the axle, sometimes they will even drop[ out at that stage.

Don't replace a single bearing in a stub, if one bearing has gone then the others are likely to have been damaged when the extra load fell on them.

be careful when inserting the new bearings (again, heat stub, chill bearing and they can sometimes simply drop in)

Look up 'Brinelling', which can be caused by inserting a bearing and putting load on the wrong race. (The balls cause dimples in the race and things go wrong from there)
