5400 seems a bit low as a peak rev - we aim for c5800 at the end of our straight. 400 revs will roughly equate to 2 additional teeth.

Engine performance will play a significant part as well and a down on power engine even on the correct gearing might not pull any more than 5400. If you throw additional teeth at it and you are still pulling the same revs you know your answer lies with the engine.
