It used to be allowed under the old regulations from about 10 years ago or so and it made quite a bit of difference on 2 accounts: The obvious one being greater capacity the other being that with more accurate tooling the bore can be created more effectively with better tollerances than Honda employ.

Add this to a 200 head gasket, cam and carb and the little gx160 will fly, however, be warned that this will take them out with the current regulations making them invalid for most race series and limiting your market to sell you kit to those that are not racing.
