Most people do not use Axle collar, even with just two bearings.

If the bearing grub screws are fitted correctly the axle will not move at all and its very easy to take out the axle with out the extra bits fitted.

Just mark up the axle correctly drill , clean off any burs with wet and dry, and lock the grub screws in place.

Its well work changing theses every time you undo then and use a very good quality alan key.

never fitted collars, never in the last 8 year had an axle move.

but if your unsure about the way you fit your axle, its a good way of stopping movement, but get it right and your not need them.
