Just a theory, if the transponder batteries were affected the cold then the range might not be as good and the strip in the track might not pick it up as you pass over it? I was talking to team 23 and he said he problems with the transponder and he recorded a time of 40.51 which I think is impossible. Still it will be a long while before it will make a difference to our result so that will matter.
