Hi Brian,
My experience is with Rally Cars so primarily 4 cylinders. One of the smaller issues with lift is gas speeds (induction) and the subsequent change in ignition.
It may be worth contacting someone like "Piper" cams (Don't know if they still exist) as these types of organisations are usually very helpful. I have found them to be a great platform when putting together a new cam design.
