1 set per meeting is fine, the application of the marking has do be done after practise... That way you do have the chance to tell if you have a duff set.
A note to everyone read the rules, you need know them inside out. At least then you're in a position to actually question officials rather than just doing what your told, because they can be incorrect. I think knowing an official is off the mark and not bringing it to their attention, when rules are being applied incorrectly to proportion of the competitors is very underhand. I'm not saying this is case here as I don't know if competitor A knew what had been said to competitor B. I'm guessing everyones tyres were marked?
