I also detect a feeling that people think things have changed in the last couple of years with SP engines. Call them what you want, SPs, whatever, but in the 10 years I've been prokarting it's always taken big money to get the best engines. When I first started I always used to aspire to a pair of RPM motors, and after a year of saving, working extra at uni etc, I bought a good pair. It was probably the single biggest purchase I had made in my life (beaten only now by a car and a house!) but it seemed like the natural next step. The following year I won the championship at Warden Law. This, to me, is the correct route, not via the back door of inheriting someone else's hard earned motors.
