Not really sure what the problem is. What's to be gained in the first 5 seconds of the race? Surely it's up to the drivers to decide on how they are going to get to the first hairpin without trouble. Take a risk, pay the price. Be sensible, you've got the whole race to get to the front.
The layout of the track means its never going to be easy, but it's not meant to be is it? Every first corner at every circuit is fraught with danger. Isn't it a huge part of the challenge to avoid the danger? If the pole man has an unfair advantage of controlling the pace, don't you think they've already earned the right to this advantage by being there in the first place? Is Eau Rouge at Spa any less of a bottle neck on the first lap? Don't see the FIA cutting half the lap out so that everyone has a lovely time while they get used to being in a race.
