Changing type of oil is a sure way to glaze the bore and lose compression.
# establish the present oil type # continue to use same oil # keep present performance or # ignore oil type previously used # mix oil types # glaze bore necessitating glaze busting # lose performance as rings lose sealing capacity # come back here and ask how to get performance back # wade through the carp when asking about/discussing glaze busting equipment and useage
- my oil choice for practise engines = use gtx, change when oil feels thin.(monitor compression and refresh rings and valve seats when compression drops).
