The pods are starting to look good. I have started with the nose and the paint is covering well. I have tried this on an old set of white plastics. I am painting them orange, I had to go for the paint rather than new as I've never seen any orange plastics.

A thin couple of coats seems to be doing well. I scrubbed the nose with a wire scourer, wiped down with alchohol and didn't use any undercoat.

I bought my Plastikote paint from Hobbycraft as this seemed to be the cheapest and they have a good selection of colours, only Ł6.99 a tin (400ml)

Not sure what colour your pods are to start with, but if you have a light colour, I would say go for it.
