The Biland runs a compression ratio of 11.3:1 which is pretty high enough.
We always run on tesco's best Momentum which is 99 octane. For one race we swapped over to Shell's V Power which is 98 octane and the difference was drastic. The carb needed a lot of setting up for that fuel, we know this because we had to fine tune the carb for the race with the V-Power, then retune again at the next race when we went back to Momentum...
It could just be the different mixtures/specs of the two fuels, but we certainly noticed a difference in power/engine running on the lower octane fuel.
Just my pennies worth :) Thomas..................
