Not sure what you are getting at Steve? We did years of cadet karting on an absolute shoestring and had a great time at club level. Reason it was on a shoestring was we were running two karts - a 100cc w/c which eat the bulk of the money but pretty much all we did to the Honda Cadet was fuel and the odd set of tyres! At one point we did put a brand new GX 160 on but that was only about Ł200 at the time so hardly broke the bank and performed really well straight out of the box. If you're talking about MSA then it's never going to be 'cheap' because it's far too competitive.
Affordable is also a relative term...
