Our kart came with a batch of about 10 pre-cut sprockets, there is a mix of Talon and all sorts of aftermarket ones, gawd knows which ones are heat treated or not......

speaking in general terms, for aluminium, you should only use heat-treated aluminium for anything on a racing vehicle, non heat treated ali is for things like extruded loft ladders, pots and pans, which never see any fatigue or high load cycles......either to TF or T6 heat treatment condition is fine, otherwise it bends easily and will crack too soon, as it just doesn't have the strength or fatigue life.....if you are really worried just buy Talon every time.
