might be miles off here but is it a job for thread tape/ptfe tape, from a plumbers merchant?

(don't know the actual thread but some unions are parallel and some are tapered. The parallel threads need tape to seal and the tapered threads need tape to seal when alignment prevents tightening fully).

2nd idea... if it is either side of the actual banjo that is leaking then fibre washers should seal it(autodiscount or diesel shop).
