Dan,

You want them on the soft setting - 1.

What you have to remeber is that setting one with the sproket inboard (ie closest to the engine) has the top lug at the furthest left position but the outboard clutch will be at the top right.

If you run the clutches with the left one inboard and the right one outboard as most MS do your clutches will look different and how they are set at the moment might be correct - just make sure you put them on the correct engine otherwise it will be the equivalent of setting 4 which is very harsh and will bang like mad.
