You don't have to spend a fortune to be competitive and there are many good chassis around, however, the popular ones and those achieving success are MS, 7Kart/MBM and Wright R2. With good engines and well looked after with proven results you can expect to pay a premium for these. It all depends on your budget but there is some good secondhand kit around but the good stuff is being snapped up fairly quickly as demand for prokarts is good at the moment.
