I think that would be wise. There isn't a massive difference between the engines and if there was you can bet that Kelvin would be the first to be re-writing the regulations to equalise them either way.

Despite the fact that I have just bought a pair of T1 SPs I would probably recommend the T2 for the primary reason that this will be all you will be able to get spares for in the not too distant future and if you buy new you know exactly what has been done to them and by whom.
