my daughter started age 8. She had been around karts for sometime before and showed interest in the mechanical side of things before she drove.

Before we invested in our own kit though we borrowed a kart, suit and helmet for a couple of sessions just to make sure that it was something that she would take to. And she did and it was the best time I think we ever sent together - it was worth every penny.
