agreed, sounds like the plastic pilot jet is playing up......what I also find is the O-ring on the plastic pilot jet can perish and cause the same problem, I now carry plenty of these pilot jets spare (peanuts on ebay) as its a PITA when it does go wrong and ruins your day if you haven't got a spare, and the failed item cant be fixed.......check this link which is really useful, print it off and chuck it in your karting bag of toot.

As you can see its No2 on the list of 12 reccomended Honda checks, get a 0.3mm pin and shove it through the end, when I have done this its always been blocked with crud!
