Look how many times we read this sort of stuff. The WHOLE reason for Speed cameras is attributed to tax rasing.... as is more duty in Ciggies..... even though THAT has alwasy REDUCED the tax take as more people STOP smoking. It was EXACTLY the same for Drink Driving rules back in the 1970s: exactly the SAME type of people claimed THAT was for tax-take purposes!

You can bet tour bottom-dollar that SOME bright spark will state that the Govt. has cut VAT so that they can RAISE tax-take! Anyone want to take a bet that SOMEONE doesn't do it?

It's the standard, knee-jerk, reaction from some people!
