That sounds as though we agree on the basics.

You don't mind the over-all 'take home pay' of the avearge MP but you object to the lack of OPEN-NESS about the 'Reasonable Allowances' and, on top of that you rightly object to the downright cynical ABUSE of 'allowances' by SOME MPs.

If so.. we agree on that.

Now tell me if you think we'll get BETTER MPs if we cut their 'take home pay' (salary + GENUINE allowances). My view is that only a MADMAN would think that... so... make the salary around the Ł150k mark and allow AUDITED expenses! The Key word there is AUDITED!

If we agree on that, then I am happy!
