In the radio news reporting of the case yesterday afternoon there was some mention of Miss Adamson having had consumed some (not how much) alcohol. Implying that the amount might have had partial impairing effects. Hence my post. I can't find any mention of that fact on the on-line reporting.

Ian,
"...Have a look and see if you can find anything EXCEPT his speed that would have classed his driving as 'dangerous'. (Speed is shown in the lower right corner)..."

Would you have speed limiters fitted to the police cars so they never go over the speed limit? Just in case Police Advanced Training fails again in the brain of another PC? I'm sure every crook in the land will get behind you on that one!

"Retired police inspector and police driving standards expert Gordon Robertson said he "could not imagine" a situation where Dougal should have accelerated to more than 90mph, without activating his blue lights or siren." (Quoted from the on-line reporting.)

Notice the use of "...without activating his blue lights or siren." GR doesn't stop after "90mph"!

Heavy reporting was on the fact that the PC was driving improperly for the conditions (and withot the B&T), which indicates that it wasn't the speed but YET AGAIN: THE IMPROPER USE OF SPEED, which has killed!
30mph is SPEED! 0mph isn't!
Were Miss Adamson crossing the road when PC Dougal passed the spot of her death first time at 30mph she would have lived, as she would have had she crossed the road before or after PC Dougal's second passing!

Listen, I'm not defending PC Dougal here, (nor am I defending his use of speed for that matter) he was dealt with by the Court and his employers, as for the consequences of this crash and the lessons it teaches I believe it is for the Police's internal affairs to learn lessons and improve their training to avoid further similar occurrences, as I believe has already been accepted as a failure in court.
