To me the biggest gain following the spending spree Ferrari (and others) had in the last decade or so is in reliability. OK, this season that wasn't reflected in Ferrari's performance, but you must agree that the teams at the top are more reliable than those at the tail end.

I want to see races that end with most, if not all, drivers getting the chequered flag. If we start imposing a cap on spending on the cars/equipment we might end-up in a situation where 1/2 of the grid is DNF.
Certainly that isn't a spectacle, is it?

And if this season so far is anything to go by, it proves that sometimes it doesn't matter how much money you spend on your team's racing (Ferrari = 6pts) you get a bunch of upstarts cobbled-up on a spur of the moment and on a tight budget (Brawn), who come and throw the rules straight out into the air.

Sometimes I wander if Bernie and Max really are watching the races rather than being sunk so far up their own financial agenda that they can't see what's really happening out there!

They've had 15yrs+ of meddling in the F1, if they think it is so bad they need to re-invent the wheel every single season then maybe they need to take-up something they can run/manage and leave the F1 to those that can run it and for the love the sport not personal financial gain?
