I think that F1, and most other track races are as safe as they possibly CAN be really, safety does seem to be paramount, and rightly so.

It is always odd though, that with racing tragedies, or any other fatality.......two or maybe three happen in close sequence, probably nothing like what has happened within a week, will happen again in the next ten YEARS.

Not really sure what I am trying to say.......but, you can remove much of the risk, but when you are dealing with machinery, you HAVE to occasionally expect the unexpected....

Motorsport can NEVER be 100% safe
