"the productivity increase they have been asked to undertake is probably unachievable and if they don't achieve increase the productivity expected they may be disciplined......."

I agree with this, would love to see anyone here do a 3 mile cycle to your starting point, walk/cycle to 600 delivery points over a 6 mile length and then return the 3 mile journery in 4 & 1/2 hours. You start with 1 16kg (in theory) bag on the front + an Additional 16kg's on the back. You also have to collect 3-4 further bags.

You will not get rid off all your mail as alot of people order stuff to home, and then are not their to collect so you have to carry all parcels and signature items around with you.

Now compare this 18k job with the 15k 9-5 admin job davyboy described above.

AN extra 3k, but you will work less social hours and more physical work in ALL weathers.

The Strike itself is not about the pay, it is about the reduction in service and the self harming attitude of the RM management.

Any striking member is not being paid whilst they don't work.
