Aquila,
I'm afraid you are going to have to get used to windows and move away from Macs for your onsite engineering. Firstly you are going to need a robust laptop (which apple dont do) and secondly the software you may need is either going to be available or actually work properly on a windows machine. I used to work with a guy who insisted on using macs and he was at a distinct disadvantage when it came to software he could use (and would have to pay for for the stuff he could).
Mind you, I am an apple hater ;)
