You can get French coverage (TF1) for free by buying a french decoder and pointing a dish at the appropriate satelite. You will need to get used to ads again though (Senna died during a French ad break, the irreverence of which sticks with me for some reason)

Ironically it is the first time in 10 years that I will watch any French TV and I live here.

I had thought about buying the kit myself here in France and selling on Ebay for UK viewers, but I don't relish the idea of getting the sky legal team on my back.
