Here is some useless info for you :)
A 747 burns about 64,000 gallons of fuel to go about 8,000 miles. That works out to about eight (8) miles per gallon, which is comparable to the fuel consumption of one (1) London bus, while carrying about twelve (12) times as many passengers.
So the Boeing 747 is immensely more efficient than the city bus. Much more efficient. In the course of that 8,000 mile flight, obviously, it will burn about as much fuel as a bus would burn in 1,000 miles. So if the bus runs about 200 miles per day, the 747 uses the same total amount of fuel as five (5) buses, and carries many more passengers.
