Ian, I'm quite a chilled person... don't believe anyone's out to get me at all. My problem here was that I was unlucky enough to be given a council planner who [I subsequently discovered] operates through a rather 'unorthodox' approach. I followed the normal procedures which worked out to be extremely difficult for me. Had I 'oiled the process', I would have had a much easier time. The thing is, I would have had no issue with paying up had I known at the outset. God knows it would have worked out so much cheaper in the long run. I just didn't know that's how this person operated and didn't find out until it was too late.
