Personally, I think team orders should be allowed. Alonso was 30 odd points behind the championship leaders, Massa something like 80. Remember, this year is 20 points for a win so 30 points isn't an insurmountable gap. It makes sense for them to have swapped positions.

However, I'm pleased that someone has finally tested the rule. There was no specific order for Massa to move over, but the intent of the radio message was clear and the action on-track showed this. In my mind Ferrari should be DSQ'd, including Massa and Alonso.

The FIA have a good opportunity to set a precedent here. For all its faults, Nascar gets something right. The intent of any given rule and the interpretation of the officials is what counts. F1 should be an engineering competition off the circuit and a driving competition on it. The competition should be between teams, not between teams and the rule book.
