As you rightly imply, the first rule of business is to understand your business, your customers and your position in the market.

I hope foreign owned Lotus isn't going to make the same mistakes as the Russian boy who bought TVR. Or maybe that was all about money laundering and he's sitting in the Bahama sun right now whilst the TVR employees draw their dole money.

Perhaps Lotus has had the modern version of Sir Harvey Jones come in. He was the guru who told Morgan to through away their out dated production techniques and go for simplification and mass production.

Thankfully Morgan did know what their customers wanted and ignored what he said and continue to prosper with a full order book.
