I've only joined this forum recently but i've always believed that there was a Ferrari International Assistance.
I don't think it was as obvious when Schumacher was still racing as he was usually good enough to take the title "down to the wire" anyway so the FIA didnt have to manipulate the rules as much. The only time they came to the rescue really was when the sh*t hit the fan hard (i.e. Malaysia 99)
However, now that Schuey is gone. They no longer have a driver who is alot better than everyone else so the ferrari favoured rulings are becoming more frequent. Purely because they can no longer relay on their driver keeping them competitive.
That's my view on it.
