I knew of someone when I raced cadets who, if it rained, didnt race!!
I personally dont get the amount of testing I would like due to lack of funding. I personally use testing, as Itpro said, to try out different lines, braking points and setups. Invariably I'm faster in testing than races!!
I remember speaking to a Cadet engine builder not long ago. He was infuriated because the lads in "A Big Name Team" simply would not try during testing! You often find, in cadet and junior more often, that the kids in teams dont like testing, and therefore dont try. In my experience, its invaluable (just a shame I dont get the chance very often)
