I wouldn't think of trying to run this engine without having it all apart and checked out. You will need to have new oil seals, main and big-end bearings at the very least. Unless you plan to do Historic demos or race in the Retro series, I think it will be a very expensive project for you. The oly parts that are tricky to get are drive sprockets, gaskets (make your own) and pistons (you can re-peg a BT82 piston, so the rings don't drop down the ports). You can use a BT82 rod (but that would cost more than the engine is worth! If you really want to get this going I would send it to BRT (Beddall Race Tuning) as they prepare many of the engine used in Historic's and Retro (including my own Hewlands).
