itpro - I think you've got the history a little wrong here. It is kart racers who voted for commercial classes, instead of ABkC classes. Probably for very good reasons, on the whole they like the comfort of a commercial class solutions.
Lets imagine we created a class ULN which allowed aircooled piston port engine manufactured in Southern England. with lower cost tyres, unmarked components, etc. Would we see drivers moving over to race in ULN? I don't think so. They would take the hit in their pockets to stay in the comfortable and successful TKM class. Tal-ko know the value of what they are offering, perhaps an element of the tyre price pays for some of that value.
