Personally, I would check the engine oil level, clean the plug, drain the carb float bowl and then run the engine, especially as you left the piston at TDC and you have no risk of compression lock. Your more likely to have oil in the exhaust than the carb anyway as there is no seal on the exhaust valve. I can't see any circumstances when you would need to remove the head anyway.
If it runs okay (it will probably smoke for a while), then you've saved yourself a lot of hassle. The oil won't cause any damage, especially cool power as it readily dilutes in petrol so the carb will rinse itself through quickly enough.
