I can't think why this class has not taken off more The engines are generally very reliable as long as you carry out some basic maintenance (oil change) and are very even giving close racing. Servicing when it is necessary is expensive but as it only happens every 60 - 80 hours I would imagine it balances out. One reason that I have seen mentioned in the past is that they aren't "proper" kart engines because they're not 2 stroke. Similar seems to be said about Biland, Swiss Auto etc. My son much prefers the power delivery of the TKM4 to Rotax but we do seem to be in the minority.
