Within the meeting it was stated that since the pro kart heats had been reduced, the prokart grid numbers had fallen. I can't comment on if this was as a consequence of the dropped heat however that's what was stated. Prokarts have always from 1995 had 4 heats and a final. With this in mind and the fact that by lap 10 the race as such is almost finished it was decided to reinstate the extra heat for the prokart class whilst reducing the number of laps across all the heats and final therefore racing laps were essential the same as the previous year. The aim of which was not to increase track time but the race experience. All meeting attendees from other classes agreed with no comments to this change.
