the seat stay engine side needs to be bent to miss the engine. Mines bolted to the outside bearing carrier. What tyres are you using ? you might have "to much grip"
If I turn in hard, the inside wheel lifts, I don't get any hopping, apart from when a weld went. The cross-bar that goes behind the seat WILL break the weld where it joins the chassis rail near where the engine sits. Get it strengthened before it goes. Try to keep the engine away from the weld using a longer chain.
Is your seat mounted right? if its to high or to far back, this will also give you more grip.
What axle have you got in it ? Try a different axle.
