Well I'm afraid there are more than three grades of axle.

CRG alone have 10 different grades.

Couple this with the fact that you can alter the length of each of those to again alter the handling and you complicate things even more.

Given the choice of different hubs and wheels and different materials for those parts and you end up with a minefield of information.

Just to make things worse, can also alter the ride height of the kart.

Need more grip, put in a stiffer axle, need to lose grip puy in a softer axle.

But that is too simple when you consider the differing materials that chassis are now made of and the differences in caster.
