also Ian (and hi again after all these years.) worth mentioning that the AXLE is THE pivotal datum point. having spent years building karts, putting in the axle, carefully nipping it up, tapping with a soft hammer/re measuring/tapping/re measuring to the kingpin centre, I spent a year at Zip and saw how they simply got the rear axle right and true. The Paffetts simply popped in (semi tightly) the axle bearing hangers inc bearings, slid the axle in and out and as long as it slid easily as they tightened the housings, all was true! SIMPLES! They had the freeeest spinning axles I can recall via this method of "self centering" not unlike an FF1600 clutch
