I went to start one of my generators, checked and found that the tank was empty, "where's the fuel gone and why is the trailer flor so slippery, whoops"?
Discovered that it won't turn over and is hydraulicing (new word). The fuel tap was on and the sump is brimmed with fuel and oil.
I checked the needle valve and it shut off ok when I tested it, slow leak maybe.
I drained it and spun it over on the pull cord a few times and then filled with fresh oil and it started but revved at full speed until I freed off the governor, probably gummed up after standing for over two years.
Is it likely to have damaged much, I don't race or rally it :) Cheers!
