Some sound advice there Ian, thank you.
So just to give yiu abit more info, im based in grimsby north east lincs. My local tracks would be tattershall, woodthorpe or even fulbeck.
I initially want my lad to have fun in the kart whilst he builds his confidence, his lines etc etc but to enter into racing once he is ready. I have experience with 2 strokes but woukd prefer the hassle free day of a 4 stroke Honda, but was willing to go through the stages of owning a 2 stroke so i could learn a long with the boy.

hope this gives a little insight into what im after, in no particular rush, even considering the kart as a christmas box. Is there a best time to buy etc
