I think if I was just looking to get some hours in and have some fun, I'd go Rotax, especially as they're are going out of favour for the x30. Basically it's now a buyers market, with many teams etc selling very good, very well, maintained engines, for what a scruffy, unsealed one, would have cost a few years ago.
But, if you have serious aspirations to race, then an x30 will give you maximum future proof, as the class is still on the rise.
Or, get an easy kart senior, with a view to doing their series.
Or, extreme (bore out) your TKM (if it's a BT82) and do that.
As others have mentioned, it all come down to budget and aspirations
