The answer is still the same. I don't imagine anyone would buy a 'lesser' engine if there was a quick and easy way to find a 'quick one' at anything like sensible prices.
I suppose your best bet is to look at the history of each engine being sold. Does it hold lap-records, has it won championships, is it owned by someone who has enough money to have bought a 'factory-selected' motor(obviously, such motors don't exist....... Yeah....!) But..... also be aware, it's not going to be easy to ensure the motor that you buy actually IS the one which won 'championship x' .........
I wish you the best of luck but it's unlikely to be easy or, if you find the right motor....., CHEAP!
