Someone I know who who has done A LOT of design and race engineering on front running factory Bowman prokarts in the late 90's once told me to get the teflon-lined cables & outers used on mountian bikes......as the friction from 2 normal cables causes stiction/friction on the throttle and can slow down a prokart.....which sounded quite logical to me.
I used a teflon one on our cadet, but being a single cable it didnt really make much difference, but certainly worth a go for a prokart......just search ebay for "teflon mountain bike brake cable" and you will get zillions of options pop up at sensible price.....but if you want to pay 4 times the normal price, just go to halfords!
