Yup.....even the VW beetle had ali pushrods!.....so when they all gets hot the gap stays far more consistent......having steel pushrods means the block and head thermal expansion is more than the pushrod.....all a bit harder to control.
One of the main drivers for honda going to an ali pushrod would have actually been low-noise......as the larger gaps really do make a lot of noise in a generator.
When using larger or smaller gaps you are basically playing with the opening and closing angular events of the cam.....you could argue certain gaps suit certain circuits......but unless your up the front just set them at 10 thou, then learn how the set the kart up and drive!
