Welcome to the Shenington Kart Racing Circuit website - Home of the Shenington Kart Racing Club! |
Latest news will appear here.
We plan to purchase the SuperSports ERS Tempus
timing system by the end of the season, funds
permitting. This should be of great benefit to the
club members and guests, being able to bring up various
statistics on
www.karting.co.uk website.

Your
committee's meeting:
Ever wondered what the committee discuss at their
monthly meetings? Well, currently the following topics
are under discussion:-
The committee realise that we will have to work hard to
promote the club this year, as the general decline in
karting starts to bite. You too can do your part
by joining the club as soon as possible and encouraging
your friends to do likewise.
We are working with Warwickshire College to help train
student marshals, as part of their course. They
helped at the Super One and Stars meetings.
Track re-surfacing which cost over £40,000 plus VAT and
was done in late July. We
will put in some extra timing strips at
the same time.
Renewal of bark in the run-off bark traps, and tyres for
some of the barriers. 200 car race slicks have
just been delivered and are being used at the side of
the straight up to the Stratford hairpins.
The Noise Meter official's post and the Stratford
marshal's post have both been re-built over the Xmas
period..
We are concerned to hear that some local hotels and
guest houses put their prices up on our big championship
weekends. They might be struck off our recommended
accommodation lists, and prices withdrawn.
Promotion of karting at local clubs & groups, seeking
new drivers and officials. We are actively seeking
primary schools in the area to give out the DVD's and
brochures, with hopefully a talk about our sport.
Monthly financial report and review of invoices to be
paid. The annual profit for the club was revealed
by the Treasurer and the accounts will now go to the
Auditors for preparation of the official accounts.
The British Pedal Car Championship used the circuit
in May and were very pleased with our facilities.
They have asked to come back next year.
Track management & safety is always on the agenda.
We will have two Super 1 meetings and a Stars round
again in 2007.
We are planning for a purchase of the SuperSports Tempus
timing system (ERS results) by the end of 2006 and will
be putting up larger start lights.
Toilet & Shower opening times: Clubhouse toilets &
shower will be closed between 2315 & 0715 but will not
be open evenings of or prior to mid-week testing,
although the old toilets will be.

Race Track and banks: Please note the club is now enforcing the rule that there is no access to the race track without official permission, even after racing or practising is finished. This is because of complaints from the glider club of children throwing stones over the banks onto the glider club runways and equipment. Please do not allow your children to go onto the race circuit at any time, no cycling, playing etc. Drivers may walk round the circuit before practise or racing.
|
| |
| |
Perimeter Gate: Please note that the outside
gate is locked between 11 pm and 7 am on race weekends.
But it is locked with a stout chain to allow room for
pedestrians to gain access after locking up time.

Formula Libre:- Regrettably we are not able to offer Formula Libre. We will accept ICA and 100 National if there are enough entries but will not accept the use of air-cooled engines in these classes because of the noise. However we will accept air-cooled engines on the test days. For 2005 we will offer Rotax Max/177 if there are enough entries. Summary of classes raced at Shenington.

| |
| |
There will be three heats (whenever possible - two in winter months) and a final.
Championship points will be awarded on class finishing position.
